Adobe has announced the release of Magento 2.4.3.
As usual, it includes a number of updates and features for merchants to take advantage of.
Both Magento Open Source & Adobe Commerce 2.4.3 includes many new updates to improve your store's performance, security, and stability with over 370 new fixes and 33 security enhancements.
The Magento community has provided significant input and a number of these changes are a result of issues submitted via GitHub.
Let's dive in and find out more about the key highlights from the Magento 2.4.3 announcement and how it may impact your platform.
The expansion of reCAPTCHA coverage and the inclusion of built-in rate-limiting are both significant. PayPal Pay Later is also an addition to this update that could benefit a lot of store owners.
Let me explain why...
1.1 ReCaptcha Module
ReCAPTCHA has now been extended so that any web API's that use a HTML page as part of their functionality can also be protected from spam attacks.
This will help certain Magento stores performance levels as we have seen malicious spam activity on unprotected sites cause serious issues.
1.2 Built-in Rate Limiting
The updated built-in rate limiting feature is able to restrict the size or number of resources requested by a user. This helps prevent denial-of-service (DoS) attacks.
DoS attacks can not only slow down your site but can also take your entire website offline. We are always pleased to see further strides being made within Magento to help with the stability of your website.
The built-in feature will also ensure that the backend of a Magento store is not overwhelmed with API requests and ultimately, will reduce the chances of reduced performance.
For sites with extensions that update thousands of products via a single API request, Magento has released a patch to allow increased protection without interrupting your workflows.
1.3 PayPal Pay Later
PayPal Pay Later is another innovative feature that has been integrated. This allows shoppers to pay in instalments as opposed to paying in one transaction.
This gives shoppers an additional payment option whilst helping your store drive more sales by reducing the barrier to entry with your product prices.
2. How Magento 2.4.3 could enhance your existing platform
There are a number of interesting new features that have been included in this particular update. It is important that if you are a Magento store owner, you keep on top of these updates.
Not only are they important for the development and maintenance of your site but they are vital to enhancing your customer user experience.
