We helped build a product field that enables customers to increase the quantity of their chosen item by how many are in a pack size. For example, customers can purchase a pack of 16 cardboard boxes by default and increase the quantity in increments of 16 to match the pack size. This makes it convenient for the client’s customers to select the correct amount of products available in a pack or palette.

After being incomplete by the previous developers, we were able to pick up and complete an advanced system that works out shipping costs based on customer postcodes. This applies postcodes to different ‘Zones’ around the country, which are then matched against different delivery charges in a database. We applied this and various delivery charges based on region and weight, ensuring the rules and functionality work as intended. We then added a postcode field to the ‘Add New Address’ pop-up on one of the checkouts, giving customers the correct delivery costs.

We inherited and worked on a system that could show minimum product prices to specific customers. Customers can then see different pricing upon logging into the system, depending on their ‘My Account’ parameters. This tailored pricing will show a list of special prices, depending on the type of customer they are based on assigned details.

Given many products have pack sizes and pallet sizes, we added a ‘Quick Add’ button to make it easier for customers. Now, the client’s customers can add packs by clicking the ‘+1 pack of 7’ button, for example. This involved plenty of competitor research, before finalising the details and then showing the buttons in the site’s front end.

We worked on a full integration between Magento and OGL Software’s prof.ITplus (an ERP system). This enables the import of information between systems, such as products, stock levels, pricing, order status emails, customers accounts and more between Magento and OGL’s prof.ITplus.
